I will analyse the advertising of "Ed Sheraan", "Arctic Monkeys" and "Brandon Flower".
These adverts are from artists that share the same genre of our artist "Ray Jones" and have given me a better understanding of how this works. The advert of "Ed Sheraan" connect to the audience in a simple way, keeping it simple and tidy as is a convention of the genre and also the position of the artist on the poster is very effective to create a connection with the audience, his face is the first thing you will see and the viewer will link the poster with the artist immediately or in case of a new artist would wonder who is he which is the main purpose of the advert, to promote the artist, so I will try to put in the same position my artist.
The advert of "Brandon Flower" is a bit unconventional. Even though it has no more than 2 colours the name of the artist is smaller than the name of the album and this is unconventional. You cannot see the face of the artist and as I believe is a new artis because it says "The debut album" this is a failure because if you want to promote some one new the first thing you need to do is present his face. I do like the use of yellow and the dark blue which gives elegance and I think this is how the advert connect to the audience trough the colours.

The Advert of "The Arctict Monkeys" is very simplistic and is based on the fame of the band and this is how they connect with the audience. They are very famous and do not need many words to promote themselves.
Thanks to these three adverts I have got a couple of ideas which would help me trough the process of producing my ancillary work. One is to use a picture of the artist in the middle of the poster and be careful where, he is looking at.
