Looking for references

After asking people about what would they expect to see in our music video I went to look different music videos of the artist Ed Sheeran who is the one that sings "The City" to see if they have the "Illustration" relation between song and video, that most people would expect.

After my research I found 4 things:

1. Ed Sheeran does not have many music videos.
2.Most of his videos do follow the lyrics or make a very obvious relation between the song and the video.
3. The guitar is not a very important prop for him; it does not appear in any of his official videos. It is more for an unplugged video.

4.The most important thing in his videos is him. There is no much activity in the screen besides him singing. (except for one music video called "Give Me Love", He does not appear once in this video, we just can heard his voice.)

In conclusion the videos are what the people expect from them, the lyrics of the song determines the video. They follow the Illustration theory.
