Production - Evaluating Footage

This is a screen shot of how we have organised our footage so far. The clips with a purple label are the ones which are base tracks. You can see that we have quite a lot of base tracks which will be very useful to the editing of our music video. The folder '01' contains all the clips that we think we are not going to use because they do not look so good, but we are keeping them just in case as some sort of back up. We believe we have a very good amount of footage, consisted of base tracks and other clips that would come in between the base tracks, so we have a lot to choose from and.

Watching our footage, some of it was filmed at night which looked quite dark.

However, noticing that from day 1, in the following filming days Fabiolla brought a big torch that helped to illuminate the artists' face. One problem would be the background that looks very dark like for example in the following sample.

We are planning to try to deal with that in our editing, to make it look brighter by changing the colour correction.

Some of the footage we have was improvised on the day because we started to get some new ideas and we wanted to experiment some new shots. For example, the following shot of the artist looking at the Big Ben and it starts out of focus, the it is slowly getting in focus. At first we wanted to try to have the focus changing form the Big Ben to his face, but because it wasn't working, we decided to stick with the idea of slowly getting in focus.

Some of the footage we decided not to use because of framing problems.

We had to be more careful with frame when reshooting, and in some of our base tracks there are parts where the framing gets better or worse, so we will use only the parts we believe the framing looks fine. Some other problems that we found in some parts of the footage was the auto focus that at some points makes the artist's face look blurred, and we will deal with it the same way.

Our footage is very varied and we used many different camera angles and types of shots that will help to create the city atmosphere in a dynamic way. However, when filming our artist we focused in mid shots and close ups to achieve the successful promotion of our artist Ray Jones. Our base tracks consisted of mid shots and then exactly the same shots but as a close ups, so we can alternate between those two types.
