Strengths: I believe that the strength of my remake is the framing, the editing and the mise en scene. I believe the framing is quite outstanding as it follows the rule of thirds and it is quite similar to the original music video by Britney Spears. In the editing, I changed the light levels to adjust to a decent brightness. I also think the editing is good because it synchronises very good with the foley sounds and the constant cuts create a feeling of impatience. The mise en scene it's also good because we used plaits to make Jebeen look like a school girl and she's wearing a smart T-shirt and a tie, a mini skirt that gives the sexy school girl look, the College as a location, the books and stationary, everything to create this high school atmosphere like in the original music video.
Weakness: We didn't get a chance to film any singing or dancing, so there is no lip-syncing neither the whole purpose of a music video that is to show the artist performing as an artist. I also think Jebeen's performance could've been better, she didn't look bored enough. And the very first shot in particular was a bit hard to do, as we had to use a chair to move the camera forward in a straight line, but it only moves forward for a short amount of time, it doesn't look as effective.
In comparison to the original music video, I think we did quite a good job. However I'd say that the lighting in the original video looks much better, since is very natural daylight and gives an orange tone to the image, and of course the performances were better since it's a real music video and they have to know how to act to make it look good. The mise en scene is also stronger as it has many more students and it is a bigger classroom, and the teacher is wearing glasses and there is a map behind her, but as just a practice, I'd say my work is ok overall.
