Here i am going to talk about new editing skills i have learnt when creating the music video for The City
From the feedback of our rough cut and our own analysis we noticed that the background of one of our chorus base tracks was a little problem. There was people walking passed in one part and then disappear and reappear this was a problem because we wanted to show continuous walking. to solve this problem we used Eight-Point Garbage Matte. this is a very very handy tool which can be used in final cut pro. To understand the tool i did some research myself.
This is how it is done: copy the certain clip we wanted to edit and place it behind the original footage. select the effect we want for the background which was blur and then select the Eight-Point Garbage Matte after this you place the points around the figure you do not want to blur and then smooth the effect up. this then will mean that the focus will be on the main singer and not the background.
another skill i learnt was reversing the shot:
This was a great effect to use to make the music video more interesting it also flowed with the beat. this was reversing the traffic scene. this is buy selecting the reverse effect. this is a very simple and effect effect which looks very good
