Firstly, it is obvious to create an artist with the influence of the original artist Ed Sheeran. So I have picked some images of different Ed Sheeran's music videos that I believe represent his style. Ed Sheeran is often dressed casually with a jumper and jeans. In many of his music videos he does not appear most of the time, letting another character get all the attention. I believe this makes the viewer pay more attention to his music rather than his style, which means he is not acting like an artist with a made up image of himself, but more like a common human being with his own personality. This makes him quite unique and his music more appreciable and respected. He does not want to be a 'super star'. This unique personal image of Ed Sheeran we want our artist Ray Jones to have as well, with the only difference that his personality might be more outgoing and he will be the focus of the music video, but he will still present a simple common style that can drive the attention to him as a human being and to his touching music and lyrics.
The Script is a band very similar to our artist. The singer's style is also quite casual but with some stylish touch like leather jackets or shoes. The genre does not appeal to an older audience but because of the artist's style which is casual but also 'mature' (he is wearing shoes rather than trainers) might make it acceptable to older audiences. We might consider this idea when choosing the outfit for our artist as we also would like to make him acceptable to a wider audience. The Script music videos are also more widely appealing because they often portray daily common things like streets, cars, romance, day-to-day life, that is more relatable to a wider audience (unlike pop videos which are highly produced with expensive and luxurious mise en scene and is more appealing to aspirers). Our music video will also relate to daily ordinary life which might make it more appealing to a wider audience and more easily relatable to both genders.
