Skills Audit

The research I conducted for my AS practical work was different in a lot of ways. A lot of the research was to do with developing skills we didn't have yet, like filming and editing skills.  I believe that we had to do less research as it was limited to the genre of 'thrillers'. I think most of my research was basically watching films and watching videos in YouTube looking for the conventions of the genre. I used little technology to present my research, as I relied on embedded videos and screen shots only.

The A2 practical work requires more research. It is much less what the teacher give us and much more what we find it ourselves. I have been doing more research into genre, artists and theories. I use YouTube a lot to watch music videos, but it is not the only mean of research I use, I also go into a variety of different websites and select the information I think it's more relevant. Some of the information I find, I take it from what I learned last year for the exam about the Music Industry. I also developed my research presentation by using different technologies.

I believe that I have developed the ability to select relevant information from different sources and be more analytical about them, as well as the ability to present the information in a more interesting way.
